Am I a 'Violent Transphobic Bigot?'
These are very strange times, but that is something we aren’t allowed to acknowledge. We are expected not to look puzzled by people telling us their pronouns, we can’t ask why Superman has a boyfriend or why Popeye the Sailor Man is now Popeye the Gender Fluid Sailor. None of us can know anymore how many genders there are, and that’s supposed to be okay. If it isn’t, then you are inciting violence.
What I found most bothersome about the viral Josh Hawley exchange with a woke law professor is how quickly the professor attempted to quash his line of questioning about non-females giving birth by claiming that it “opens up trans people to violence.”
Claiming conservative views incite violence has become a common modus operandi for the Left. Donald Trump is said to have invited violence by asking his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically” protest. Dr. Fauci read his death threats when questioned by Rand Paul, a senator who has survived an assassination attempt. And, poor, poor AOC seems to live in mortal terror of everyone who is not an AOC voter.
But no one is more vulnerable to violence apparently than a Supreme Court justice who has had his home address publicized by a group who calls him a fascist.
Kidding! We all know the most vulnerable amongst us to speech are the trans people. (Those justices will be fine, right?)
Just a few days ago Jordan Peterson was banned from Twitter for promoting violence by calling actress Elliot Page by her “deadname,” Ellen Page.
This was very reminiscent of the complaint by two Dr. Phil guests that conservative Matt Walsh caused them great pain and suffering by disputing that they were women simply because they had facial hair and penises.
Activists like to mention the high rate of suicide among trans people as evidence of their vulnerability to transphobia. Question: does a trans commit suicide because some McDonald’s cashier “misgendered” him or her while taking his or her order, or because he or she is suffering from a very real or very tragic mental disorder called gender dysphoria?
Attacks upon the trans community do occur, as do violence against many other communities, and those responsible should be prosecuted. But these attacks are only cheapened by couching those who are truly evil bigots with those who insist that only women can become pregnant.
