Israel’s War for Peace
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu says “We have three goals in this war: Eliminate Hamas, return all of our hostages, and ensure that Gaza will not go back to being a threat to the state of Israel."

One has to almost feel sorry for some Democrats today. Imagine the effort it takes to be a part of all that — calling for free abortions and open borders, taking kids to all-ages drag shows, pretending to find those late-night talkshow hosts funny — only to discover one’s teammates celebrating a terrorist attack that killed over 1,200 people; and praising a group that is anti-American, antisemitic, anti-Arab, anti-woman, anti-gay, pro-fascism, and sympathetic to the Nazis.
This must be especially true for many American Jews, who are almost as loyal to the Democrat Party as African Americans. Polls typically find that over 70 percent of American Jews are Democrats, despite that party long being decidedly less pro-Israel than the GOP.
According to Gallup, for example, when asked in March of 2023, 78 percent of Republicans say they are more sympathetic towards Israel than the Palestinians. Only 38 percent of Democrats expressed more sympathy towards the Israelis when asked the same question, while 49 percent of Democrats said they were more sympathetic towards the Palestinians.
It must also be difficult for American Jews to argue that this lack of sympathy for Israel from their party isn’t creating a dangerous environment for them in their country and for Jews worldwide.
This is especially so after many blamed Trump for the 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue shooting after his remarks following the 2017 Charlottesville riot were deliberately distorted to make it appear that he was calling Neo-Nazis “very fine people.” Anyone who thought Trump saying that there were “very fine people on both sides” at the protest over a statue somehow inspired a self-described Trump-hater to kill 11 Jews should also believe, if for no other reason than consistency, that the demonization of Israelis, falsely accusing them of being colonizers and oppressors and such, must encourage violence as well.
